AUTUMN/WINTER 2008

We're convinced that 2008 is the year of the practical present - so for this Christmas we've put together a selection of relatively modest gifts, which are luxurious, handmade, natural and stylish – and which will prove themselves to be real assets in bringing a little seasonal joy to the tedious business of everyday life.

We've a handful of really lovely utility gifts, ranging from beautiful moth-repelling bags made from recycled sarees, to the rather splendid 'Johnny Greenfinger's Beanline bag'; the ideal gift for any gardener close to God's heart. And of course this season the Clean Fingers Kit is reinvented to be both more affordable and more appealing - but still just as handy to have around the place …

All boxed toilet soaps ordered from October 1st onwards are presented in beautiful handmade paper, printed with seasonal images in rich gold, and tied up with sensual hand-spun shon twine. We beg to draw your esteemed attention to the parcels of three, which are simply quite delicious - and just begging to be dangled coyly on their loops as you trip up the path to Christmas lunch like a beaming Victorian child. It's worth pointing out that you'll spot a number of lovely items handmade in India and Bangladesh this year. Many are from copper-bottomed Fairtrade sources, and wherever possible we've also ensured that they work in a good measure of inventive recycling to boot. All tags and pack inserts are 100% recycled, too.

The promised salts and scrubs are, we're afraid, not available by mail order until the economy settles down - simply because their weight makes them uneconomic to send. We hope you're not too disappointed, and that the world resettles on its axis shortly,
so that normal service can be resumed …

Skincare sets this year are centred around the luscious Rose Absolute range, with gifts suitable for everyone from the funky tween niece, through the girls at the office, to the venerable dowager aunt. And if you're not looking for sets, you'll perhaps be pleased to learn that - again from October 1st - every single skincare item ordered by either retail or trade customers will come complete with a smart card gift bag.
And, just so you have a little more to spend on lovely things (or those slightly better olives …), we've dropped our UK packing and postage charge to a very reasonable £3.50. Now that's what we call a Christmas gift!

So spend little and wisely this Christmas, and … ENJOY!
