Chelsea Physic Garden becomes a stockist.
We're thrilled to announce that Chelsea Physic Garden now stocks Pot of Gold, Carrot Custard, Avocado Custard, Rose Butter, Honey Lips, Tudor washballs and the Little Bag of Comfort in its shop. The Physic Garden was founded in 1673 for the purpose of training apothecaries to identify medicinal plants, and, as the second oldest botanic garden in England, still fulfils the traditional functions of scientific research and plant conservation. The Garden also undertakes to educate and inform as well as to provide the amenity of a walled "secret" garden in the heart of London. Among other things, it aims to demonstrate to all who visit the many uses of plants, and particularly the heritage of the plant world as our common medicine chest. Its Patron is H.R.H. The Prince of Wales. Chelsea Physic Garden is to be found at 66 Royal Hospital Road SW3, and is open on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons between 12 and 5pm, and on Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays between 12 and 6pm.

Our new letterpress print shop.
The all-new letterpress print shop is up and running, with lines including greetings cards, new product labelling and printed accessories for the home. The very first new printshop product, our letterpress "Veg Bags 1 doz" was tremendously well received, with lovely pieces appearing in 'Livingetc', and in 'Country Living' magazines. We're now also in April 2011's 'Country Homes and Interiors' ! Country Homes editor Rhoda Parry was also kind enough to feature them in her wonderful blog, 'Country Days'. Made using genuine antique wooden lettering and traditional hand operated presses, each one is a veritable work of art.
Notes for editors:
CL Leavey & Co was founded from the ashes of The Still Room in 2006, and is headed by Claire Leavey, a former classic motorcycle journalist, now a designer, inventor and general dreamer-up of schemes. In addition to a growing range of traditional household items of all varieties, our most notable creations are the very special handmade Tudor-inspired skincare lines (all preserved using only their own natural raw ingredients), the finest handmade cold process toilet soaps you could hope to find, the amazing all-natural 'Biobar' super stain removers, the 'Apis' suite of British beeswax polishes (again made with only the finest natural materials), the super windproof Peglit pegbag, and the very very versatile multi-purpose Lavender Essence cleaning and refreshing spritz. Our base is a former chicken house in darkest Worcestershire, where we ply our trade thanks to more than thirty years' research and practical expertise in traditional, ancient methods, technologies and materials. In addition to our own unique branded lines, we also produce a variety of equally special personal and home care products under contract to a select band of high-profile high-end retailers. The blue-label 'Biobar Super Household Soap' is sold in Oxfam branches throughout the UK.
